01 START WITH THE DATE

Start with the slate, then the status.

NBA daily lineups connect each game to two starting units, with a visible distinction between a supported projection and a sourced confirmation. This preview currently contains the October 20, 2026 opening-night schedule. It does not contain today's or tomorrow's verified starting fives. The three matchups below are labeled with their actual schedule date so they cannot be mistaken for the day you visit.

Boston visits Detroit, Philadelphia visits New York, and Oklahoma City visits San Antonio. Use a matchup to return to its homepage card. All player positions remain Pending there. The position markers on the ticket explain basketball roles only; selecting Center or Point guard does not select an NBA player or produce a projected lineup.

02 EVIDENCE BEFORE A BADGE

How NBA Daily Lineups Move From Projected to Confirmed

PENDINGPROJECTEDCONFIRMED
COURTSIDE / FIELD NOTESRead the record.

A schedule establishes who plays and when. It does not establish who starts. The next useful layer is availability: an official report can identify an Out player or a player whose participation is uncertain. A projection may then use that information alongside recent starts and the team's rotation. Those steps must stay distinct, because adding another source does not automatically remove uncertainty from the final selection.

Projected means an estimate with a documented basis. Confirmed means a named source has listed the actual opening unit. Pending means this site has not published either of those supported states. It is preferable to leave a position Pending than to fill it with the best-known player at that position. Fame, depth-chart order and last game's starting role are not independent confirmation for the next game.

NBA Rule No. 3, Section II requires starters to be provided to the scorers at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start. Submission to the scorers and publication in a public feed are different events. The site must wait for accessible evidence rather than changing a badge when a countdown reaches thirty minutes. This distinction matters even when a likely lineup appears obvious.

The current opening-night cards therefore keep all five positions Pending for both teams. The interactive court is a role guide, not a demonstration of a real projected or confirmed unit.

03 SHOW THE REASON

How We Project Starting Lineups

RECENT STARTSROTATIONAVAILABILITY
COURTSIDE / FIELD NOTESKnow the floor.

The planned projection process combines recent verified starters, rotation information and the relevant official injury report. Those inputs answer different questions: who has started, who has played that role and who is available for this matchup. The process must use the right team, game date and roster context before it can support a projected starting five. A stale roster should not be repaired by guessing a replacement.

A depth chart provides an ordering of roles and options. It can help interpret a change, but it cannot decide a coach's next starting unit by itself. Likewise, a player marked Available can still come off the bench. An Out entry can remove a candidate without identifying which teammate will start. The resulting estimate should explain the evidence and retain a Projected label until confirmation arrives.

We do not have that projection pipeline running in this preview. No list of real players is being generated behind the Pending cards, and tapping a position on the ticket does not create one. There is no accuracy percentage to report because no evaluated prediction history has been published here.

When projections are available, a changed name should be traceable to a specific comparison and source. Rumors, an unlabeled social post or a timer should not be substituted for the evidence needed to describe a change. If the inputs are incomplete, the appropriate output remains a visible limitation.

04 A SEPARATE GAME DATE

NBA Starting Lineups Tomorrow

CHECK THE DATEKEEP THE BADGE
COURTSIDE / FIELD NOTESBefore tip-off.

Tomorrow's schedule and tomorrow's starters become available at different times. A loaded fixture can support a matchup page before any reliable projection exists. That page should show the scheduled time and distinguish known game information from unknown player selections. Having a URL for tomorrow is not evidence that either team has chosen its opening unit.

This preview does not claim verified tomorrow starters. Its available schedule is explicitly October 20, 2026, and the source date does not roll forward when you reload the browser. A future live implementation will select the basketball day in Eastern Time and retain each published date separately.

Before reading a future lineup, check the game date, both team names and the status of the five. An earlier injury report can provide context, but it should not silently become a game-day confirmation. Late availability decisions may still change the projection.

05 COMPARE LIKE WITH LIKE

Lineup Changes This Week

There is no verified weekly lineup-change list in this preview. Producing one requires comparable starting units for the relevant games, with source dates and confirmation states preserved. Comparing a tentative projection with a later official unit can describe a projection revision; comparing two confirmed games can describe a change in who started. Those are different events and should be labeled accordingly.

A useful change entry names the player entering the unit, the player leaving it and the comparison game. A linked availability status may explain the context, but it should not be presented as the coach's reason unless a source supports that claim. A substitution during a game is also different from a change to the opening five.

For now, the Pending labels prevent the empty data from becoming a fictional rotation story. The intended changed badge will appear only when there is a real earlier unit to compare with. Zero published changes here means no change history has been assembled, not that every NBA team has kept the same starters.

06 PRESERVE THE OPENING UNIT

Lineups Archive by Month

OCTOBER 2026

The lineup archive will keep each game day at a dated address. That allows a reader to return to an old starting unit without finding tomorrow's names in its place. Monthly pages should link only to published dates and should distinguish a pregame projection from the final recorded starters.

The daily archive now contains dated schedule coverage; verified starting fives remain unavailable. The October opening-night slate is available as a schedule, with Pending player positions. Once source-backed daily coverage exists, its date, status and source time can be preserved together. The calendar below communicates that current coverage boundary rather than offering empty date links.

FAQ BEFORE TIP-OFF

Your questions,
answered.

01What are NBA daily lineups?

They are game-day starting units for both teams in each matchup. A useful page includes the game date, scheduled time, five player names per team and a status showing whether the unit is projected or confirmed. This preview has the schedule and position slots, but it does not yet publish verified player selections.

02How accurate are projected starting lineups?

A projection is an estimate, even when it uses recent starts and an official report. A coaching decision or a late availability update can change the unit. This site has not published an evaluated projection history, so no accuracy percentage is claimed. Check the evidence and badge instead of treating a prediction as a guarantee.

03When will tomorrow's NBA starting lineups be posted?

A future matchup page can exist after its schedule is loaded, before starters are known. A supported projection would appear only once its inputs are available. This preview has no tomorrow feed or promised publication time. The visible October 20 slate stays labeled with that date regardless of when you open the page.

04How do I know a lineup changed?

A published comparison should name the earlier game or projection, identify the changed player and retain the source time. The planned changed badge is not active in this preview because there are no verified units to compare. An injury-status update can affect a projection, but it is not itself confirmation of a replacement starter.

05Do you keep old NBA lineups?

The intended archive uses a separate page for each game date and a monthly index. Dated schedule pages are available; verified starting units are not attached yet. A future archived page will keep its own players and source context, while any correction should be visibly identified. The opening-night schedule cards currently contain Pending slots, not historical starting fives.

What is available here.

This explanatory hub was reviewed on October 2, 2026. Rule No. 3 was checked for the distinction between lineup submission and public confirmation. The opening-night schedule is separate from the position guide. No automated projection, live confirmation check, weekly change tracker or daily archive is operating in this preview.

THE GAME BEFORE THE GAME

The five starts with availability.

Read the injury-report hub alongside the matchup cards. Check the date, then the player's participation status, then the lineup badge. A supported projection can still change, while a confirmed unit needs a named source. If the source is missing, keep the uncertainty visible rather than turning a likely selection into a fact.
