What happened
Washington opened NBA Cup play by beating Charlotte 95-79 after a defense-led 16-8 closing run before halftime and a 28-13 third quarter.
Khris Middleton played four first-half minutes and did not return, while AJ Dybantsa made his second start and home debut with 17 points and eight rebounds.
LINEUP CONTEXT
Middleton's second-half absence and Dybantsa's expanded role suggest Washington's wing minutes may shift again, though this game alone does not confirm a longer change.
