What happened
Washington hosts Brooklyn on Monday night in a preseason matchup between 2-0 teams, and the Wizards list Jamir Watkins and Tristan Vukcevic as out. Khris Middleton and Tre Mann are day-to-day, so the available rotation is still not fully settled.
The preview says Washington’s new starting five of AJ Dybantsa, Trae Young, Anthony Davis, Kyshawn George and Alex Sarr needs more reps. It also expects that group to play a little more Monday with opening night just over a week away.
This mainly affects preseason rotation evaluation, not a locked regular-season lineup. Middleton and Mann’s statuses remain open, while the reported starting group should get additional minutes if the plan holds.
