What happened
Washington beat Detroit 114-108 in overtime at Capital One Arena, and Trae Young was ejected in the third quarter after an altercation with Daniss Jenkins.
Brian Keefe used third-stringers in the fourth, and Will Riley, Justin Champagnie, and Felix Okpara helped the Wizards rally while Riley and Tre Johnson finished with 15 points.
Because Keefe leaned on deep reserves late, Washington's preseason rotation still looks unsettled. Saturday's result may help Riley, Champagnie, and Okpara in the ongoing bench competition, but no opening-night roles are confirmed.
