What happened
Phoenix claimed Drew Timme off waivers after Minnesota released him before the 2026-27 regular season, and the Suns signed him to their third and final two-way spot. The move replaces Koby Brea on the roster.
Timme is expected to split time with Phoenix and the Valley Suns, marking another stop in his NBA career after previous time with Brooklyn and the Lakers. He also logged four preseason games with Minnesota this fall.
This affects Phoenix’s frontcourt depth and leaves the Suns with no open two-way slots. Timme’s G League split suggests his role is likely to be fluid rather than fixed.
