What happened
Philadelphia held Joel Embiid out for Sunday’s game against Detroit because of right foot plantar fasciitis management, after the club’s first back-to-back of the season.
Embiid had urged the team to let him play, but Philadelphia still rested him after Saturday’s win over Milwaukee, where he posted a triple-double.
His absence changes Philadelphia’s frontcourt rotation on short rest and leaves the center spot less certain while other bigs are also unavailable.
