What happened
Philadelphia was beaten 144-106 by Boston in its third preseason game and dropped to 1-2, opening with Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Justin Edwards, Dean Wade and Jabari Walker.
The Sixers were still missing several players, including Adem Bona and Anfernee Simons, while Labaron Philon Jr. got second-half lead-guard reps and Walker and Philon each finished with 14 points.
Philadelphia remains thin at backup center, and Philon’s usage suggests the guard rotation is still being tested. The final preseason matchup with Boston could bring more lineup mixing if the same absences continue.
