What happened
Philadelphia announced Saturday that it converted Tacko Fall to its final two-way contract slot, joining Caleb Love and Rayan Rupert on those deals. Fall had arrived on an Exhibit 10 contract during camp.
The 30-year-old center missed the preseason because of a left hip injury, and the move comes with the Sixers set to open the regular season Tuesday against the Knicks. He has played 37 NBA games in his career.
The signing adds another center option while Ariel Hukporti is out for the season, and Philadelphia had already used preseason minutes at the five behind Joel Embiid. It also leaves less clarity about how the Sixers will divide backup-center work once Adem Bona is fully back.
