What happened
Boston hosts Philadelphia in the Celtics’ home preseason opener, and Nick Nurse said he plans to use his starters in one of the two games against Boston, likely this one after the Celtics rested theirs earlier in the preseason.
Philadelphia lists Anfernee Simons, Ariel Hukporti, Adem Bona, Dominick Barlow and Taco Fall as out, while Boston has only Ron Harper Jr. on the injury report and he is still a game-time decision with a shoulder issue.
The Sixers’ missing bigs could keep their center rotation thin, while Boston’s exact preseason workload for regulars is still unsettled. Both clubs may still adjust usage before tipoff because this is an exhibition.
