What happened
Marc Stein reported that the Knicks did not move reserve guard Tyler Kolek to open roster space for Bruce Brown, and said only a trade for a center would have made Kolek available.
The report also says Kolek and Pacome Dadiet appear set for opening night uniforms, while James Wiseman filled the 14th roster spot as New York stayed at 14 players.
This clarifies that Kolek’s roster status is tied to New York’s center flexibility, not Brown’s departure. For lineup purposes, the Knicks’ backcourt depth appears intact, but the final 14-man structure still leaves little room for changes.
