JJ Redick said the Lakers will open Friday’s preseason game with Austin Reaves, Walker Kessler, Ziaire Williams, Matisse Thybulle and Luka Dončić.
The move leaves Quentin Grimes on the bench after starting every previous preseason game, and Redick said he still has not finalized the team’s base starters.
Los Angeles is testing a defense-first wing mix around Dončić and Reaves, but the final starting group is still not locked in. Grimes’ bench usage could be temporary if the guard rotation changes when Collin Sexton returns.
