Denver’s preseason preview says the Nuggets went 54-28 last season, then added Tyus Jones, Marvin Bagley III, Alpha Diallo, Spencer Jones and DeMar DeRozan while losing Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jonas Valančiūnas.
It also says DeRozan is the sixth man for the first time since his rookie year, and Denver opens the season Oct. 22 at Oklahoma City before hosting New Orleans two days later.
A bench role for DeRozan points to a different second-unit mix early in the season. The article still frames Jokić and Jamal Murray as the main drivers, while the quality of the non-Jokić minutes remains the key unknown.
