What happened
Nets rookie Mikel Brown Jr. made his preseason debut Wednesday after missing Brooklyn's first three exhibitions with a left sprained ankle, and he came off the bench for 18 minutes against Miami.
He scored 15 points on 4-for-7 shooting with three rebounds, three assists, two steals and five made free throws as Brooklyn lost 144-128.
Brown's return gives Brooklyn another bench guard option, but the article only confirms his preseason availability Wednesday and does not establish his role for opening night. His earlier ankle absence means his workload still bears watching.
