What happened
Dallas opened its two-game Macao preseason set with a 135-117 loss to Houston, and Kyrie Irving, Dereck Lively, Santi Aldama, P.J. Washington, Marcus Sasser, and Caleb Martin were held out.
Daniel Gafford hit a spot-up three in the first quarter and played eight minutes, while Dwight Powell matched his career high with eight assists and led Dallas in that category.
Those absences leave Dallas’ early preseason rotation incomplete, and the center minutes plus bench ballhandling roles may continue to shift in the next Macao game.
