What happened
Dallas closed the preseason with a 135-111 loss to Atlanta, but Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving were among the bright spots while the Mavericks again struggled with defense and perimeter shooting.
Rookie Sergio de Larrea added a useful bench note, hitting two more threes to finish the preseason 8-of-11 from deep and posting eight points, four assists and two blocks in 25 minutes.
Dallas still looks unsettled beyond its top two creators, so the bench shooting battle and defensive reliability remain important as the regular season nears.
