What happened
Los Angeles opens the 2026-27 season on Oct. 21 against Golden State and Oct. 23 against the Clippers, while Quentin Grimes is described as locked in as a preseason starter on the wing.
Jake LaRavia has the early edge at power forward, and Walker Kessler still has not debuted after a finger issue, though the preview says that absence is not considered worrisome.
Those notes leave one starting spot unsettled and suggest Los Angeles is still testing its frontcourt combinations before opening night. Kessler’s availability and the wing mix could still affect the regular-season rotation.
