What happened
Sandro Mamukelashvili emerged as a preseason bright spot for the Lakers, showing scoring, energy and versatility with threes and even a reverse dunk, while Ziaire Williams also impressed despite missing time with an injury.
At the other end, Jarred Vanderbilt’s role shrank behind the Lakers’ added wings, and Dalton Knecht, Jordan Hardy and the final roster battle were still unsettled, with Knecht looking likelier to lose that fight based on preseason playing time.
These preseason reads suggest Mamukelashvili and Jake LaRavia could be useful rotation options, while Vanderbilt may be lower in the pecking order. The last roster spot is still unresolved, and the article only says Knecht appears to be in trouble.
