What happened
Jake Fischer reported that the Lakers have explored a framework with Milwaukee that would send Dalton Knecht and draft capital for Jericho Sims as Los Angeles works to cut its roster from 16 contracts to 15 and add frontcourt help.
The piece also says sources briefed on the talks are pessimistic that a deal will happen, while noting Sims has been only a limited rotation piece and is viewed as an athletic, dunk-heavy center.
If completed, the move would give Los Angeles a more varied center group, but the report leaves the trade itself uncertain. Until then, Sims remains only a possible depth addition rather than a confirmed rotation piece.
