What happened
Tyler Kolek’s streak of mistake-free play ended Friday in a 98-93 loss to Philadelphia, when he committed two turnovers and finished with four assists and two points in 13 minutes.
After 21 assists and no turnovers in his first three games, Kolek has steadied New York’s offense behind Jalen Brunson, aided by Jose Alvarado’s ankle absence and possible return.
If Alvarado is cleared later, New York may need to trim a crowded reserve backcourt because Brunson’s heavy minutes leave limited room for both guards.
