What happened
The Knicks are back at Madison Square Garden for their first home game since June after Monday’s 120-97 preseason loss in Philadelphia, where the starters played only briefly.
Coach Mike Brown said he wants more physical play and better shot-making tonight, while Washington is opening its preseason on the same stage.
The brief starter run in the opener suggests New York’s rotation is still being evaluated, so tonight’s lineup should not be treated as settled. Washington’s first preseason game also leaves its own rotation usage unclear.
