What happened
New York visits Toronto tonight in a preseason matchup, and Mike Brown said the Knicks will sit their starters on the second night of a back-to-back. The game is set up as a reserves-heavy look for both teams.
Toronto is expected to get its first preseason action from Kawhi Leonard, whose arrival remains the club’s biggest offseason move. That gives the Raptors a chance to test their new frontcourt mix while New York continues sorting out bench minutes.
This should shift the Knicks’ minutes toward reserve guards and center candidates, while Toronto can use the game to integrate Leonard. The exact opening units remain unconfirmed.
