What happened
The Athletic reported that Knicks assistant coaches were shown empty ring boxes during the championship ceremony, even though they were told their rings would come later.
The same report said many longtime Madison Square Garden employees were not getting rings, after an earlier email about a complimentary employee design turned out to be a phishing test.
The ceremony detail does not change the roster, but it clarifies how the organization handled staff recognition and leaves the assistants' ring timing unresolved.
