What happened
Brian Keefe said after Friday’s practice that Alex Sarr is trending toward a Saturday return after missing Thursday’s preseason opener, and that his official status will be clearer tomorrow. Khris Middleton is also nearing a return.
Keefe also said Washington has not set its opening-night rotation yet, with the team still testing combinations and several players competing for the final bench spots after Thursday’s preseason game.
Sarr’s possible return and Middleton’s ramp-up could change Washington’s preseason rotation mix, but the opening-night pecking order is still unsettled. The final bench competition remains fluid until Keefe gives a clearer update.
