What happened
James made his Sixers preseason debut Thursday in Brooklyn, playing 18 minutes and finishing with 10 points, five assists and four rebounds in a loss to the Nets.
Philadelphia also missed Ariel Hukporti, Adem Bona, Anfernee Simons, Dominick Barlow and Tacko Fall, while Nick Nurse continued to mix Brown, Edgecombe and the bench in staggered preseason looks before Saturday’s game in Boston.
The absences trim several rotation options, and James' first preseason run suggests Nurse may keep experimenting with staggered lineups instead of locking in a fixed group. Availability for Boston remains the main uncertainty.
