What happened
Dallas closed its preseason on Friday with a 135-111 loss to Atlanta, and Cooper Flagg led the Mavericks with 26 points and 12 rebounds while Kyrie Irving hit five 3-pointers.
The article says Dallas was playing within what should be its regular rotation, then Flagg and Irving were done after a fourth-quarter timeout as the team tried to leave healthy.
This suggests the main rotation pieces got one last preseason run, but the exact opening-night roles and minutes still are not confirmed.
