Dallas rookie Sergio De Larrea has played in all three preseason games and has drawn praise for outperforming expectations so far, according to a fan poll and the article’s assessment of his start.
The piece says the Mavericks acquired him in a draft-night trade, and it adds that his shooting and floor vision could force a path into the regular rotation, though that role is not settled.
If his preseason play carries over, De Larrea could compete for ball-handling minutes on a roster that still needs playmakers. The article frames that opportunity as possible, not guaranteed.
