What happened
Boston beat Cleveland 124-113 in its preseason opener while the Cavaliers used their starters in the first half and the Celtics rested most of their roster.
Luka Garza started for Boston and finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Devin Carter added 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in his Celtics debut.
Boston’s rotation mix is still fluid, and this game mainly showed how the bench and young players can soak up minutes until more of the starters return. The regular-season shape remains unknown until the Celtics get a fuller preseason look.
