What happened
Boston beat Philadelphia 144-106 at home in its second preseason game, with Payton Pritchard scoring 25 points and Jayson Tatum adding 23 as several regulars, including Derrick White and Sam Hauser, returned to action.
The Celtics opened with White, Jordan Walsh, Tatum, Paul George and Mitchell Robinson, and George posted 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals in his first game for Boston while Philadelphia started Tyrese Maxey, V.J. Edgecombe, Justin Edwards, Dean Wade and Jab4
Boston used a much more complete rotation than in its opener, but this still reads as preseason experimentation, so final roles for the frontcourt and bench remain unsettled.
