What happened
Ausar Thompson returned after missing one game with a rolled ankle, while Isaiah Joe sat out again because his bruised backside needed more rest.
Detroit said it needed Joe’s shooting, then labored after the first quarter and lost 111-97 to the Knicks despite strong nights from Paul Reed and Cade Cunningham.
LINEUP CONTEXT
Joe’s absence keeps Detroit short on spacing, so the Pistons may need alternative shooting if his status remains unchanged for tomorrow’s back-to-back.
